EASTENDERS
Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri - BBC1
CONFUSED Kevin gets out of ex-wife Shirley’s bed and rushes round to build bridges with Denise.
But she slams the door in his face.
Kevin simply refuses to take no for an answer – and asks Denise to marry him. He’s delighted when she finally accepts.
“Kevin really loves Denise,” reveals Phil Daniels, who plays him.
“He regrets sleeping with Shirley and feels ashamed.
“Marriage to Denise would work out well, but if she ever finds out he slept with Shirley his life wouldn’t be worth living.”
As the week begins, Shirley promises she won’t stir things up for Kevin and he goes to see Denise. But she shuts the door on him.
“It’s definitely not the result he was looking for,” says Phil.
“But Kevin still has a plan to put his family back together.
“He wants them to spend the evening as the Wicks/Fox family in The Vic, taking part in a charity quiz that Shirley has organised for Comic Relief.
“Then, during the quiz, Shirley tells Denise to do everyone a favour and marry Kevin. It’s a bit of a shock for everyone.”
Denise is mortified, but Kevin is stunned into action.
“That makes Kev realise his true feelings for Denise,” adds Phil.
“He decides to propose in his own way the next day.
“He visits the post office where Denise works and places a box with a diamond ring on the counter and asks her to become his wife. All very romantic!”
Denise insists a proposal can’t win her back, but the ring gets stuck on her finger when she tries it on.
Kevin backtracks and tells her he just wants her to move back in.
Disappointed Denise hides her hands behind her back, but Kevin grabs her hands and sees the ring.
They bicker furiously until Denise admits she thinks they should give marriage a go.
“I’d like to think Denise and Kevin’s marriage will work,” smiles Phil.
“She certainly keeps him on his toes!”
ELSEWHERE, Cruel Stella shows her sinister side as she burns Ben’s hand to stop him threatening her relationship with Phil.
“Stella reveals how horrible she can be,” admits Sophie Thompson, who plays her.
Stella offers to keep Ben company as Phil is away for the night.
“Stella is annoyed that Ben has told Abi about getting lost at London Dungeon,” says Sophie.
“She asks him how they can be friends if she can’t trust him.
Terrified Ben apologises to Stella and she offers to make them some hot chocolate.
“She takes the spoon out of the drink and presses it on Ben’s hand until it burns him,” reveals Sophie.
Next day, Ben covers the injury by lying to Peggy that he scratched himself.

I am looking forward to everything with Kevin. I've missed him while he was gone. |

Although I can't stand Ben, I certainly wouldn't want to see any child abused. I say let them both get hit by a lorrie, quick and painless. ;-) |
