I'm guessing this order was really given in order that black men weren't seen as being important by those watching the newsreels in America.
Seeing that kind of footage might have inspired the very kind of 'revolution' that happened only 20 years later. |

I'm not sure? Was it The Battle of Algiers (1966)? I'd like to see that for sure. It's supposed to be based on events during the 1954-1962 Algerian War against French rule.
